Did you know that when a person comes into your blog, it takes less than 5 seconds to evaluate it and decide whether to continue reading it or not? And as you can imagine in that interval, that there are not enough time for your visitors to read your great content that you’ve prepared them if they don’t like your website’s design. Focus almost exclusively depends on the design of your website.

Why is it so important to have a good design?

  • Increases,  time spent  on your blog.
  • Generates  greater confidence  in your readers and you give a more professional look.
  • Increased authority  in your niche with the quality blog.

How to have a good design?

In this article I want to share with you the most important aspects to be considered to have an attractive and professional blog. Some of them are:

1. You must have a responsive design

It is one that is adaptive and adjusts to different resolutions and devices . Currently and with the boom of smartphones and tablets it is very important that your design is perfectly shown for this wide range of devices.

If you use  a CMS  to create your website or blog, you can do it automatically responsive.

2. The importance of color scheme

One of the most important aspects when making a good design is the  combination of colors. I suggest you use two main colors for your blog and try to combine well. Or figure out some colors that mainly represents a classic elegant style. More color is not recommended.

I’ll give you some examples:

  1. Red and Black.
  2. White and Black.
  3. Green and Brown.
  4. Red and blue.

Under no circumstances should you use strong colors or fluorine, as difficult to read and strain your eyes.

Used for  action buttons  bright colors  like orange or red are colors that stand out and that is precisely what you want.

Even  be very careful with images too. As far as possible they should follow the same style as the rest of the blog in colors.

3. Images

This is another very important point. I am amazed at the number of websites with  images bad sized proportions with  no sense.

So I suggest you to not make these basic mistakes and use a good editing program like Photoshop or something similar or if you can’t use them, then use online designing tools. Check out here : 10 Tools To Create A Design Online For Your Social Media Contents

Spend enough effort to this section.  Create own original images  as  the SEO will thank you enormously.

4. Typography

Use  styles that are clear and easy to readNever use block letters on a dark background  that makes it difficult to read. Better opt for dark letters on white background, you’ll notice the difference !.

The size is large and preferably not larger write paragraphs. It is shown that shorter sentences are read better and are absorbed with less difficulty.

Focus all sections of your site to make life easier for your readers, it is the fundamental rule.

5. Builds confidence

To have a blog that will be remembered for your visits and to build trust, one option I like is to place one photo on a visible part of the blog. Thus, they know there is a person of flesh behind the lines.

Another trusted brand is put your name in several areas of your blog. Let your visitors feel whose article they are reading as they want to know who wrote the content.

6. Beware of advertising

As you know there are many ways to monetize your blog, including:

You need to choose the way that best suits you according to your type of business.

If you choose the form of advertising you must be careful. It is very  important that advertising is not aggressive  nor impede reading or browsing through your website.

It is shown that the best way to place advertising is a so useful contribution to your blog . That is, use it with head and put it in places where the advertising link is justified and does not seem artificial.

Furthermore always  better not to abuse it  out of control but put in strategic places where profits are maximized and do not disturb a reader. As for example in the sidebar or at the end of each entry in your blog.

7. Consider your competitors

Always know what do you do or what value you provide to your visitors.  It is a very common and good practice to visit the websites like to get ideas and find out what and how their rivals are doing.

I am not saying that you have to copy the whole website, but just see the strategy they use that readers are coming back to their site. Never copy as this is not good for your reputation and people are not stupid.

What I mean is that when you create a blog, you  must cover more than just your job is to write, you must open the view and begin looking around you .

8. … and trends.

For some years, the trending in designing websites uses less minimalist styles, with less concentration of elements per square centimeter than what was done so far.

Today  we tend to use most of the screen space with large and spaced icons . This has been thanks to the technology boom of increasingly large monitors and smartphones with screens getting larger and resolution.
