In this tutorial we explain how to change the name and password of the WiFi on the Huawei HG8245 modem / router.
Changing the name and WiFi key on this computer is very easy to do. You just need to follow the steps explained below.
Steps to change the WiFi name and password on the Huawei HG8245 modem
First open the browser and enter your default gateway. In most Internet service companies it is http://10.0.0.1/. Then press ENTER and you will be presented with a page where you must enter a username and password.
The username and password that you must enter is the serial number of the router / modem. It is attached at the top or under a paper that has “S/N:” written which are acronyms of serial number.
You must put the user serial number and password as written. Bone, all in capital letters. Then click the “Login” button below.
When you log in, click “WLAN” in the menu at the top. Then click to the left where it says “WLAN Basic Configuration” and you will see something like the following image.
There are options to change the WiFi name and password on your Huawei HG8245 router. Where it says “SSID NAME” is where the name of the wireless network goes. You can simply delete the one written and put the one you want.
Then much lower is “WPA PreSharedKey” which is the field where the password is. Delete the one you have write the one you want your WiFi to have. It must be from 8 to 63 characters.
The other options that are are optional. When you make the desired changes click the button at the bottom that says “Apply” to save the changes and you’re done, you already have the name and the password changed in your Huawei HG8245 modem.
