Since last year we knew that the president of Nintendo was with health problems, and a few hours ago, has unfortunately been confirmed Satoru Iwata has died at 55 years old.

Nintendo has issued a brief statement which discloses the news of the death of its president, which occurred on July 11, 2015 because of problems in the biliary tract.

“Nintendo Co., Ltd. deeply regrets to announce that President Satoru Iwata died on July 11, 2015, due to growth of the bile ducts. Iwata was forced to skip their participation at E3 last year because of their poor condition health, and shortly after he underwent surgery to remove the tumor of the bile duct. “

Satoru Iwata was the fourth president of Nintendo after succeeding Hiroshi Yamauchi in 2002. He joined the company in 1983 as coordinator of software, including games created under its responsibility includes classic Balloon Fight and EarthBound and Kirby games .

In 2000 he became director of the company and only two years later president. Under his leadership highlights great moments in the company , as the launches of Wii and portable DS.

Nintendo has reported that by the time the company will be under the command of Mr Takeda and Shigeru Miyamoto.
