The invention of this curious device that dispenses with the traditional puncture and replaces it with a laser beam to determine the value and perfectly measures the glucose level in your blood.
It was created at the University of Leeds and its operation is as follows: the patient puts his finger over the reader, that after the glass has a laser emitter ready to throw a beam of light. Upon reaching our body, part of the laser is absorbed by glucose and part reflected back to the glass.
A detector on this surface is able to find out what amount of light sent back and calculating the percentage of blood glucose user in less than 30 seconds .
The first tests seem to have been quite successful and will soon begin marketing the invention by the company GlucoSense Diagnostics, which will go on sale two modes (with prices unconfirmed). The first will be the size of a mouse pad and will be aimed at users who need to find their glucose levels a few times a day.
But also it sells a portable unit that we always carry with us and continuously measure the level , helping to prevent possible emergencies and accurately recording the patient’s glucose throughout the day.
